Its interesting how real musicians, jazz musicians for example, actually put countless hours into mastering harmonic concepts and technique on their instruments, and they hardly get half as much recognition as commercial artists. There's great documentary on hulu called "before the music dies"; it talks about how dumb the music industry is. I would really recommend watching it if you haven't already.
